LabPilot Branding

LabPilot is an innovative platform designed to streamline laboratory operations and pilot testing. It provides researchers with powerful tools to manage experiments, track data, and collaborate seamlessly.

What Did You Do?

Because LabPilot was a start-up, I took on many different jobs that would normally require extra employees.

Logo, Website Layout, and Design:

This is a machine selection onboarding flow that I created, allowing new clients to select their machine, along with a tool supplier, to ensure they were going to download the correct gcode file for milling their reline flasks.

An early prototype of the website designed to show a simplified version of the workflow. It would scrub through the workflow using an event listener for the mouse scroll. Ultimately, we went with a static landing page to avoid confusion for some of our less 'tech-savvy' clients.

Illustration and Design for Instructional Materials:

Building on the 'aviation' motif for the business, I decided to create instructional IFUs, similar to those found in seatbacks on plane flights. These IFUs took first time users through their flask setup, and guided them through the entire process of creating their first reline. At some point I created some business cards that paired with a digital app on the phone that would allow our c-suite to easily share contact information for anyone within the company by scanning a qr code once.

Animation and Process Video Creation:

I was tasked with creating a series of instructional videos that would take new users through our groundbreaking workflows for both the cold-cure acrylic and heat-cure acrylic reline workflows. All of the animations were done in blender and the editing afterwards was done in premier pro and aftereffects.

CAD/CAM Development & Operations(Made the $$$ for the business):

This is a glsl shader that I wrote that shows when there will be a material interference in an area with precious geometry. It creates six small bounding boxes positioned at the alignment elements local position, then the if the geo(a sphere for this demo) intersects with the bounding boxes, it draws the color within the bounding boxes as red in the frag shader.

This is another shader I created that would show potential rest material due to a common 30 degree 5 axis/3+2 axis milling constraint. The denture model would be drawn twice. Once normally and again grown along normals with only backfaces being rendered in green. I then used two arrays of 10 orthographic cameras, 5 above and 5 below to determine if the areas that could be milled. Anything visible to the camera on the grown backface model of the denture would be discarded, leaving only the rest material in the unreachable locations.
